Propose 3 ideas for your project 4, explain each one in one paragraph and add at least one sketch per idea.

Post references of something that inspires your ideas (include links, videos, or/and photos, theory readings)

Define the user(s) and describe the purpose. How will you be using the concept of Diversity & Inclusion to design a playful experience?

Finally, describe the digital and analog techniques you to will use for creating this toy.

Idea 1: A giant sensory snack bag toy

There already exist shaker keychains and plushie soft toys that imitate snack bags, with a soft outer bag and either a zipper or velcro seal on top with additional plushies or small trinkets inside. The front of the bag would have a clear soft plastic that imitates the clear plastic film of a real snack bag.

Another characteristic would be that the toy has a variety of textures and appeals to multiple senses — the outside bag is soft fabric, the plastic film part is smooth and see-through, the inside would contain various objects of materials ranging from fabric to plastic, which also provides different sensory experiences. The bag itself would also have an inner layer of crinkly plastic that has an audible texture. Small sensory bag toys already exist as a fidget outlet, and combining it with the concept of a snack bag (or some other realistic container with items inside) would be a sized up version of a sensory bag.

Additionally, the container can be used to store personal effects, including any meds or equipment.

Users & purpose (Diversity & Inclusion) Tactile toys help with sensory integration for audiences on the autism spectrum or other sensory processing disorders. By engaging multiple senses, such toys aid in the development of fine motor skills and social interaction. They may also serve as a distraction in stressful situations, thus also having therapeutic effects.

If I use velcro to secure the opening, I would look for the short-tooth plastic velcro as opposed to the kind with fuzz + spiky hooks, because while velcro is convenient and easier to use, the loud ripping sound can be unpleasant on the ears. This kind makes minimal noise and is not spiky, but works well enough for its intended purpose.
